MEATY CIDER PORK
Big mealy pot of pork stew to warm you during cold autumn evenings.
APPLE CIDER PORK STEW
INGREDIENTS:
500g pork cheeks or neck
5 hard potatoes
1 large onion
4 garlic cloves
2-3 apples
1 tablespoon flour
1 bottle apple cider
200g Crème fraîche
Butter
Dried herbs, salt, black pepper, tarragon, bay leaf, spices you like
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Wash and peel onions, potatoes and apples. Get the meat, garlic and onions. Chop everything into rough chunks. Boil the potatoes for 15min, heat up a separate pot, Put a knob of butter, meat chunks, salt and flour into said pot. Fry them up with high heat till everything is browned and remove them on a plate.
2. Put the onions, garlic and apples in the same pot and let them gather pork flavor, add oil if needed. Place the boiled potatoes and the meat back in the pot, pour in apple cider and mix everything up.
3. Place the pot with a lid on inside an oven in 200°C for a couple hours to get the meat tender. Get the lid off for final 15 min to give it some dry heat. Finish it with the crème, herbs and spices. Enjoy.
